This is the home of the debate team for the University of Texas at Austin. Here you will find information about Texas Debate and the University of Texas National Institute in Forensics, one of the nation’s largest summer workshops for high school debate and speech students.

Session 1 camps are full. Please contact J.V. Reed about being placed on a waitlist for Session 1 CX and Public Forum camps. We are still accepting applications for Session 2 CX and Lincoln Douglas workshops.

*In 2013 the UTNIF will be accepting payment for applications and registration through major credit/debit cards. We can no longer accept personal checks. School districts, not for profit institutions, and charitable organizations can still make arrangements to pay by check. Please contact jvreed@austin.utexas.edu for more information regarding payment through checks

*FOR APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER MAY 20, THE PRICE WILL INCREASE DUE TO A $100 'LATE APPLICATION' FEE. All students, regardless of program, need to apply before progressing to the payment of registration fees. The application fee of $250 + the $100 fee is non-refundable, but is applied to the total balance due. In essence, the application fee is more of a "down payment." Students can apply and pay the application fee by clicking any of the "apply now" buttons throughout this site.
